Languedoc Roussillon, from the Camargue to the Spanish border, is the largest wine-making region of France.

The Soul of the Wine

The Catalan accent is echoed in the vines which grow near the sand beaches and on the rocky coast, making wines naturally rich in sugar and alcohol.

The Roussillon region has 13 wines classified, with 7 AOC Dry wines: Collioure, Cotes du Roussillon, Cotes du Roussillon Villages (including 4 specific AOCs bearing the name of the village of production; and 6 AOC natural sweet wines, Rivesaltes, Muscat de Rivesaltes, Maury, Banyuls, Banyuls Grand Cru and Grand Roussillon.

Catalan cuisine is a delicious mixture of foods from the sea and the mountains. The Pyrenees and the Mediterranean combine their resources to offer the finest natural ingredients. The sun and water nurture terrain which produces honey, almonds, hazlenuts, olive trees, peach orchards, apricots, artichokes, tomatoes, peppers and fragrant spices. And, of course, the Mediterranean, where an abundance of fruits de mer provide exceptionally fresh seafood to the Catalan table.
